What does it cost? Is it included in my IPRA membership?
There is no fee required to view the LMS website and available content. The subscription is separate from an IPRA membership. However, as an added benefit to IPRA Members, there will be select zero-cost courses available, as well as pay-per-view content to purchase individual content pieces based on your educational needs.
For those interested in the full LMS experience, there is an LMS subscription available for purchase on an annual basis:
- IPRA Member - $99, March – December
- Non-Member - $149, March – December
In this first year, it will include access to 15 hours of content through Legacy and Expert Insights for a very affordable price per user. Furthermore, Pay-Per-View (PPV) content will be available and added throughout the year, for an additional cost.
What are Core Competencies?
Serving as the foundation for IPRA University are eight core competencies that establish a clear, unified baseline for purposeful content creation within IPRA’s learning management system. These competencies - Community & Engagement, Facility & Park Management, Leadership & Growth, Marketing & Communication, Nature Conservation & Preservation, Risk & Safety, Technology & Innovation, and Administration & Finance - reflect the diverse and evolving responsibilities of parks, recreation, and conservation professionals across Illinois.
By defining these essential areas, IPRA University ensures that every course, webinar, and resource is aligned with the real-world skills members need to lead effectively, manage responsibly, and innovate confidently. In addition to identifying stand-alone learning opportunities, this framework lays the groundwork for intentional learning pathways that will guide professional growth at every career stage - providing clarity, consistency, and direction as members continue to build their expertise and strengthen the communities they serve.
