La Grange –  Barry Franks has been named IPRA Interim Executive Director. Barry has been with the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) since 2009 as Finance Director. He has his MBA from DePaul University, a certificate in Banking Policy from the George Washington University – School of Business, has over 20 years’ experience in non-profit association management, and over 30 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting. His previous roles at associations include Business Manager, Director of Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Interim Director.

In his free time, Barry enjoys spending time with his family – camping and exploring national parks. He loves the feeling of community with IPRA members and is excited to lead IPRA through this transition.

‘I am stepping into some gigantic shoes and am going to miss Debbie Trueblood’s  leadership.  I hope to be able to carry on the great work and efforts she has put into motion for IPRA.’ Barry Franks, Interim Executive Director

‘We are confident that Barry has the experience and skills to provide continuity and stability through the transition as we search for the next Executive Director. He knows the challenges that we face in the upcoming months and is prepared to handle them.’ – Doug Damery, IPRA Board Chair
