Personal Summary: I have been in the field full-time since 1996 and prior to that I worked part-time in the recreation field for 8 years. I began at Pleasant Dale Park District (June 1996-August 1999) where I was fortunate enough to work in many areas of recreation due to the small size of the district. Over those four years I oversaw youth and adult athletics, facilities, field scheduling and permits, tot through adult general programming, birthday parties, before and after school care and special events. In the fall of 1999 I moved on to my present job at the River Trails Park District where I oversee adult athletics, three facilities, a concession stand, fitness club, field scheduling / permits and assist with special events. The reason I have chosen to get involved with mentoring is because I feel I could help someone develop some perspective, philosophy or understanding on things that happen in our profession that aren’t necessarily taught in school. These things can range, but aren’t limited to, dealing with youth league parents to hiring staff to programming. When I am away from work, I spend time with my wife and two young daughters and stay active playing softball and basketball.
