What is the MARC card?
The Illinois Park & Recreation Association's MARC card (Membership Activity Rewards Card) is a token of our appreciation for your membership and commitment to advancing in the field of parks and recreation.

Who receives the MARC card?
The MARC card is a membership benefit for all active full-year rate Professional and Commercial Members. New Professional and Commercial Members at half-year rate will not receive the MARC card. They will be eligible to receive the MARC card when they renew for the full-year rate. Student and advocate members do not receive the MARC card.

How do I receive a MARC card?
The MARC cards are delivered by mail upon joining or renewing your Professional of Commercial Membership before June 30.

What is the value of the MARC card?
The MARC card can be used as a $50 gift certificate on any educational workshop sponsored by IPRA or a section of IPRA (excluding joint conferences - IPRA/IAPD Soaring to New Heights Annual Conference and NRPA courses NPSI & AFO). You can also use the MARC Card to gain MARC Points for your involvement in the association (see chart).

When is the MARC card valid?
The card is valid from April 1 - December 31. As long as you continue to be a member in good standing, you will receive a new MARC card each year.

What can I use my MARC card for?
You can use your MARC card for any educational workshop sponsored by IPRA or a section of IPRA (excluding joint conferences - IPRA/IAPD Soaring to New Heights Annual Conference and NRPA courses NPSI & AFO). MARC Cards can now also be used at meetings, events, workshops, etc. to gain MARC Points (see chart).

How do I redeem the MARC card?
Simply check the MARC card box in the MARC card area of the registration form to take advantage of your $50 gift certificate. To gain MARC Points, simply complete the attendance form at meetings, events, etc.

What if an educational opportunity is less than $50, can I use it for another workshop?
Yes. Your MARC Card gift certificate amount will be tracked and may be used for multiple workshops up to $50.

Can I let someone else use my MARC card?
This is an individual benefit that is non-transferable. It is to be used by the Professional or Commercial Member that will be attending the educational workshop.

Are there any special uses for the MARC card?
There will be a variety of promotions throughout the year at IPRA events. Please make sure to carry with you to be eligible to receive prizes during these promotions. The MARC card is also useful to know your IPRA member number when filling out CEU forms, registering for events, or logging into the IPRA Members Only portion of the website.

What happens if I lose my card?
New MARC Cards may be issued to you if you lose your card. The MARC card is non-transferable, so you can still utilize the credit on the card. You simply need to know your IPRA member ID number to utilize.
